After witnessing many people's frustration over the difficulties they encountered, I couldn't help contemplating on the foundamental question:

Is life all that difficult?

Under the very harsh skin of this question lie three simple solutions.

A. Change the enviroment

B. Adapt to the enviroment

C. Escape the enviroment

For most people who are no more than flesh and bones, B is the most likely solution. A would be too costly and C too negative to achieve anything good. I just wish I don't have to repeat that "The globe doesn't rotates becasue of any individual, and life won't treat you better if you put yourself in harms way" dozen of times in a day.

The office computers have internet access, but the problem is ... you only get four lousy virus infected machines for 20 plus people. Having a free computer is like winning a lottery.

The rigid rules of my office doesn't allow any wireless AP set up for higher personnel efficiency. Of course it's out of security concerns. But this doesn't change the fact that almost all the computers in the office are deeply infected with all sorts of lethal computer virus. So much for the incompetence of office technicians, I decided to bypass the hardware limitations and set up a bluetooth based portable lan.

Basically, I plug in bluetooth dongles on both one of the office computers and my eeepc. This will form a very handy bluetooth lan between the two computers.

Then I run a proxy mainframe software on the office computer and reroute the internet traffic to my eeepc. This way I can enjoy internet access on my own little laptop in the office without having to set up wireless Access Points. All I need is two bluetooth dongles, which is like no more than 35 RMB each. A solution much cheaper than the wireless one. The host machine, namely the office computer, can still go online. The bluetooth lan just share some of its bandwidth.

To be concise, I just go into the office, plug the BT dongles on the office computer and my laptop, and let there be internet access... When I'm leaving, simply unplug both dongles.

The only setback of this solution is its connection speed. The maxium speed is no faster than what Bluetooth 2.0 can offer. Anyway I don't do any downloading with my little laptop in the office. Surfing the internet, keep my instant messengers online will do.

Too technical perhaps? :)

I'm pretty certain about the fact I am the de facto worse customer of the year for ColdStone guomao store. Because the only thing I do there is ordering a 20 RMB cup of mocca and sit for an entire afternoon while waiting for my wife to finish working.

While in ColdStone, there's littlerally nothing I can't do. I've got every possible extension gadget plugged in... which means my usb bluetooth dongle for sending and revceiving sms via my nokia N70.

Then there's the usb optical mouse, and usb keyboard. I don't usually carry a usb hub with me so that's about all the extensions. EEEpc only has 3 usb ports.

The great thing about ColdStone is that it sits right under Starbucks, so you can always enjoy starbucks' free wireless in less crowded Coldstone, although that means sometimes you have to endure the looks from the stewardess. But I don't give a damn, it's not like I sit there for free anyway, already purchased my mocca.

Usually ColdStone is a good place for writing questions for the talkshow, sending sms to guestspeakers on the laptop, (EEEpc should be considered a bellytop,lol), sending and receiving emails as well as do whatever word processing you want to. I don't do much gaming on the mobile platform, however I did installed Virtual Gameboy Advance in case I'm stuck in a long trip travelling from one end of the town to the other.

My wife had some complaints about life being miserable and all. I sometimes can't agree more. But since life is already so damn uncomfortable, what excuses do we have to inflict more discomfort on those we hold dear of?

My firm belief is to... you know... forget about the pains life have given you, and present the ones you love with a comforting smile.

I'll upload some pictures about the eeepc and its externalities once I get enough time and interest. Technology has enabled us to carry a less than one kilogram package and do everything you need to.

Stewardess: What would you like sir?

Me: Just a cup of Mocca, please.

Stewardess: Ok...there you go.

Me:*giggle* and sit at a table with power outlet, for no less than 3 hours *OMG*!
